CPSA Begins Construction on Expansion

Today by the grace and kindness of Allah SWT and the support of our friends and community, we officially broke ground to mark the commencement of the new building construction of the CPSA expansion project. Members of the New Building Committee, tasked with overseeing the construction of this significant upgrade to our beloved school, along with some key members of the staff and board and a friend from the office of US Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi were present for this small ceremony.

Earlier in June of this year marked the start of the new construction project as a whole (read The Daily Herald‘s coverage of our event), and since then, things have progressed incredibly quickly.

A new parking lot was built in the front of the existing building (on Madison St) and the retention pond to the East of the existing building has just been completed. At the same time, the needed clearing and compacting of the future site of the new building was being done, and today’s ceremonial groundbreaking marks the start of this final – and much awaited – chapter of the construction as building of the actual structure begins.

Here are some pictures from today as well as some showing the construction progress, the finished retention pond, and even the new air conditioner units that were installed in the gym over the summer!
