Our current teaching facilities include preschool, kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school; all carefully coordinated and designed to train and ready our students for the next adventure.
Dr. Mohammed T. Taher – Principal
Newly-appointed beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, Dr. Taher has over forty-five years of professional experience in the domain of industry, academia and community service. He holds a PhD in Education from Northern Illinois University. Dr. Taher has worked to establish weekend schools throughout the Chicagoland area since the 1980’s, and currently also serves as Chairman of the Muslim Association of Bolingbrook Weekend School.
Samah Elzahdan – Dean of Student Affairs and Chief Guidance Counselor
Ms. Elzahdan holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Governors State University and an M.A. in School Guidance Counseling from Lewis University. She also has her Type 73 Illinois Counseling Certificate. This is her 5th year with CPSA.
Syeda Azra Kazmi – Elementary Administrator
Ms. Kazmi has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Computer Science from Benedictine University, and holds an IL teaching certificate. She has taught elementary grades at public and Islamic schools before taking on the Elementary Administrator. This is her 8th year at CPSA.
Azra Jabeen – JH/HS ICM Coordinator
Ms. Jabeen holds a bachelor degree in Electronics Engineering and a Master’s degree in Information Technology from Bangalore University, India. She has worked for 14 years as the head of the Computer Department at an international school and as the director of the Computer Skills Department for 8 years at Princess Nourah University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is her second year at CPSA.
Ammar Alhashlamon – JH/HS Arabic & Islamic Studies
Br. Ammar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Islamic Studies from the American Islamic University. He has been teaching at CPSA for 6 years.
Asif Iqbal – JH/HS Computer Science Teacher
Br. Asif holds a bachelor degree in electrical engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology and a Master’s from DePaul University. He has worked in the electrical engineering industry for almost 15 years. He has also been part of teaching faculty at different universities and as a TA at DePaul. This is his 2nd year at CPSA teaching computer science to middle- and high-school students.
Asim Ghaffar – HS Psychology & Social Studies
Br. Asim studied Communications at Illinois State University, History and Psychology at Northern Illinois University. He has worked closely with the high school youth for over 8 years through different organizations such as the Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament and the Islamic Center of Naperville. This is his 4th year teaching at CPSA.
Ayesha Siddique – JH/HS Math
Ms. Siddique has been working as a junior high and high school math teacher at CPSA since 2013. She has taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry and Pre-Calculus. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and has previously taught at other Islamic schools in both Illinois and Michigan.
Bothaina Zahdan – HS Islamic Studies & Arabic
Ms. Zahdan has taught at CPSA for over 15 years. She has a Bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and in Islamic Studies. She completed her Master’s in Mathematics from Chicago State University. Ms. Bothaina also serves as an assistant principal at Al-Siddique Weekend School in Bridgeview.
Carmina Forsythe – HS English
Ms. Forsythe previously taught in the Texas public school system for 18 years before moving to Illinois. She holds a bachelor’s degree in American and English literature with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Texas at El Paso. She has a Master’s in the field of education from the University of Phoenix (Curriculum and Instruction) and Lamar University (Educational Leadership). This is her second year with CPSA.
Dilkash Rajapkar – Computers/Journalism
Ms. Rajapkar has 9 years of computer teaching experience. She has been teaching at CPSA since 2010. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Northern Illinois University. She also holds Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Application Process and Fashion Designing.
Hala Alhalabi – Elem and JH Quran/Arabic
Ms. Hala holds a degree in Liberal Arts from Damascus. She also completed coursework in Qai’da Al Nourania. She taught Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies in Syria for four years and taught in Unites States for 16 years. She has been teaching at CPSA for 13 years.
Jacob Goldman – HS Social Studies
Mr. Goldman teaches AP and Honors U.S. History along with AP Economics and AP Government. He has a background in finance and politics. He holds an M.A. in Secondary Education from DePaul University, B.A. in Political Science and Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Clark University. He taught at Mather High School & Wolcott School. This is his first year at CPSA.
Junaid Mansuri, PhD – HS Math
Dr. Mansuri teaches Precalculus, AP Calculus, and Algebra II. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and in Mathematics from UIC. He also has an MS in Mathematics from Oxford University and received his Doctorate of Medicine from UIC. He has been a Mathematics and Physics Instructor at CPSA since 2011.
Kousar Sultana – HS Biology
Ms. Sultana teached AP Bio, Bio Honors and Molecular Bio classes. She has 30 years of teaching experience having taught for the last 14 years at CPSA. She holds Master’s degrees in Microbiology and in Education, and a teaching certificate.
Mobina Akram – Physical Education
Ms. Akram holds an Master’s in Physical Education and a Bachelor’s in Islamic Studies & Home Economics from Punjab University in Pakistan. She has been teaching elementary students and JH/HS girls at CPSA for 19 years.
Muhammed Al-Ahari – HS English
Mr. Al-Ahari holds an M.A. in English and Secondary Education from Northeastern Illinois University and a B.A. from East West University in Behavioral Arts and Sciences. He has been teaching high students for the past twenty-one years years in Chicago Public Schools and Islamic Schools. He also serves as the representative for CPSA and the Islamic Cultural Center of Greater Chicago on the CIOGC. He is working on his Dissertation for a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from University of Phoenix and also is completing a Masters in Islamic Theology from the American Islamic College in Chicago. This is his first year as a high school teacher at CPSA.
Muzaffar Uddin Qazi – JH/HS Math & Science
Dr. Qazi had received his Bachelor’s of Science in physics, pure and applied mathematics and an MS in Physics. He also holds a PhD in Physics. Dr. Qazi has twenty six years experience of teaching physics at the graduate and masters’ level in a public university in Karachi and this is his fourth year teaching in CPSA.
Nadia Joudeh – JH English/Social Studies
Ms. Joudeh currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Education with Magna Cum Laud recognition for grades 6-12 from Saint Xavier University and will receive her Masters degree for Educational Administration. She has taught grades 6-12 for six years, adult ELL students for 3 years, and has been a paraprofessional. This is her first year at CPSA.
Naheda Salah – Islamic Studies/Arabic
Ms. Salah has 20 years of JH/HS teaching experience in Islamic schools and has a background in Early Childhood. Previously, she taught at the American Heritage School in Florida, and was assigned by Saudi Embassy to teach Arabic Curriculum for Saudi students. She has taught at CPSA since 1998.
Ohoud Shamsedeen – Islamic Studies and Arabic for Elem. and JH/HS
Ms. Shamsedeen graduated from Damascus University with a degree in Linguistics. She has taught at CPSA for 20 years. Previously, she taught Quran and Arabic at the Mosque Foundation Community Center in Bridgeview.
Rizwan Ali – HS Islamic Studies
Sheikh Rizwan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and a minor in Secondary Education from Benedictine University.. He completed his master’s degree from Saint Xavier University in Curriculum and Instruction. He is currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at Creighton University as well as in the process of completing his Islamic Studies degree from Al Azhar University in Cairo. Shaykh Rizwan also serves as Imam and Religious Director of the Islamic Center of Naperville.
Rory Wallace – Physical Education Teacher & Coach
Mr. Wallace has a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology & Sports Studies with a certiification in PE & Health Education. This is his third year at CPSA as Athletic Director and Basketball coach.
Ruqia Ahmad – Art Teacher
Ms. Ruqia holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics from Punjab University, Lahore and a Bachelors of Education degree from Pakistan Air Force College. She has also completed coursework in Early Childhood from the College of Dupage. Previously she has worked a Kindergarten Lead Teacher for six years in an Early Childhood learning center. This is her fourth year teaching art at CPSA.
Sadiq Sadiq – JH/HS Math
Br. Sadiq graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a B.S. in Mathematics. He went on to teach math at the Institute of Islamic Education in Elgin. This is his fifth year teaching at CPSA. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Education.
Sameena Khan – JH Math and Science
Ms. Sameena has a BSc degree in Microbiology and a MA in International Relations. She also holds an MA. in Teaching from National Louis University. She has experience of more than 15 years of educator/administrator experience outside of the United States. This is her fourth year of teaching at CPSA.
Samina Mryan – HS Chemistry & Biology
Mrs. Mryan has an M.S. degree from Rush University and an M.Ed. from National Louis University with a type 9 Secondary Teaching Certificate. She has held teaching positions at Rush University & Northwestern University. She also taught General Chemistry for Science Majors at Elmhurst College. Mrs. Mryan is in her 7th year of teaching at CPSA.
Seemi M. Hamid – JH English Teacher
Dr. Hamid holds a Bachelor of Arts, an MA in Teaching with a Type 3 teaching certificate and an Ed.D. Currently she is teaching Literature and Language Arts for 6th and 8th grade, Social Studies for 6th grade as Islamic Studies for 6th and 7th grade. This is her third year working at CPSA.
Shazia Lodhi – School Librarian
Mrs. Lodhi holds a B.S. with a double major in French & History, and a minor in English. She is certified to teach French and History. She has a B.A. with elementary certification with an emphasis in Social Studies. She received her M.Ed. with an emphasis on Reading from Xavier University, Chicago. Mrs. Lodhi has taught at CPSA for 17 years and has served as librarian for the past 4 years.
Duha Dabbouseh – 1st Grade
Ms. Dabbouseh has a B.A. in Elementary Education with a concentration in psychology from National-Louis University. She also has a Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with an ESL Endorsement. She has been teaching 1st grade for 15 years.
Amna Awan – 2nd Grade
Ms. Awan graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She holds an IL teaching certificate and this is her 5th year teaching 2nd graders at CPSA.
Saima Mozaffar – 3rd grade
Mrs. Mozaffer is a certified teacher with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Governors State University. She also has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from University of Karachi, Pakistan. This is her fourth year teaching at CPSA. Currently, she is pursuing a Masters in Elementary Education.
Reema Mohammad – 4th grade Teacher
Ms. Mohammad holds a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Benedictine University, with a minor in social sciences. She has substituted at various public and private institutions. This is her second year with CPSA as 4th grade teacher.
Amy Mackenzie – 5th Grade
Ms. Mackenzie has Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Roosevelt University and a BA in History and French from University of Toronto. She has a IL teaching certificate with Middle School Endorsements in Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts. This is her second year teaching 5th graders at CPSA.
Samina Ahmed – Preschool
Ms. Samina Ahmed holds an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Post University and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Early Education from Kendall College. She has been part of the Islamic elementary school system for the past 14 years as a preschool and kindergarten teacher and as a former preschool teacher’s assistant at CPSA from 2004-2013. She is excited to rejoin the CPSA faculty and strives to create and maintain an environment where children can grow and thrive while exploring the world around them.
Rabia Khaja – Kindergarten
Ms. Rabia has completed her Bachelors in Elementary Education from UIC and holds a certification by the Illinois Board of Education. She has taught for 3 years in 3rd grade and is in her 3rd year of teaching Kindergarten.
Ahmedi Fathema – Teacher Assistant, 3rd Grade
Ms. Fathema is a certified paraprofessional and has previously worked as a teacher assistant. She holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree from India and has completed coursework in computers from College of Dupage. This is her 4th year at CPSA.
Asma Aamir – Teacher Assistant, Preschool
Ms. Aamir received her Bachelor’s degree from Pakistan where she worked as a pre-school teacher and pre-k coordinator for the last 20 years. She holds an Associate’s degree in Montessori Studies as well as a certificate in early childhood education. This is her 5th year at CPSA.
Ayesha Huma Nawaz – Teacher Assistant, 1st Grade
Ms. Nawaz has been associated with CPSA for over 16 years in various capacities; office assistant, art teacher, teaching assistant, and resource teacher.
Durdana Begum – Teacher Assistant, Kindergarten
Ms. Begum holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from India and has completed Child Development courses in IL. She is a certified paraprofessional and has worked at CPSA for 20 years. She currently works as Kindergarten TA.
Faizia Roohi – Teacher Assistant, 4th Grade
Ms. Roohi has a Master’s degree in English Literature and a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with Middle School teaching experience from India. Previously she worked at early childhood learning centers for 3 years. This is her 3rd year with CPSA.
Muntaha Musa – Teacher Assistant, 5th Grade
Ms. Muntaha has an Accounting Degree from Jordan and a Teacher Assistant certificate from IL. This is her 4th year at CPSA.
Reshma Ali – Teacher Assistant, Preschool
Ms. Ali holds a Bachelor’s degree in elementary as well as an Illinois teaching certification (K-8). She also has a degree in Islamic theology. Ms. Reshma comes with 11 years of experience and has worked with CPSA for over 6 years.
Maimuna Moid – Office Manager
Mrs. Moid holds a bachelor’s degree from Osmania University, India. She started with CPSA as an administrative assistant. With over 20 years of experience, she serves as our office manager.
Lubna Atika – Office Support
Ms. Atika holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from India. She taught Islamic Studies, Science, Social Studies and Urdu in the UAE for 10 years. This is her 7th year at CPSA where she has worked as teacher’s aide and in administrative support positions.
Nesrine Sakr – Office Assistant
Ms. Sakr holds a bachelor degree in law from Beirut Arabic University in Lebanon. She is also a certified paraprofessional. This is her 5th year at CPSA.
Shaheen Ruksana – Accounts Manager
Ms. Shaheen earned her Associates degree in Accounting & Information Systems from Seneca College in Canada. She has 15 years of experience as a Staff Accountant in the United States and this is her 4th year at CPSA.
